Our History
The history of Carolina Insurers Associates began in 1957 when H.B. Todd opened his first office selling Life Insurance in Tabor City, NC. In 1980, H.B. added Personal Insurance and Commercial Property and Casualty Insurance and the agency become Carolina Insurers Associates, Inc.
His daughter, Sonja Todd Norris, came on board in 1985. In 1987, Carolina Insurers merged with Waccamaw Insurance headed up by Mack Skipper who had seventeen years of insurance experience.
In 2000, new owners moved the agency out of town. The rebirth of Carolina Insurers came in 2009 when Kevin Norris (H.B.’s grandson), Sonja Norris (H.B.’s daughter), and Mack Skipper re-opened Carolina Insurers Associates in Tabor City.
Since that time, Carolina Insurers has merged with Advantage Insurance and Southeastern Insurance Agency. We also have on our staff Diane Long, Michelle Dudney, and Jeana Jernigan. We are proud to serve both North Carolina and South Carolina.
As an agency, we believe the profession is best served by those who acquire a high standard of professionalism by being able to meet the needs of our clients.
